Stupid Phosban question

Is the Phosban Reactor just a place to run the phosban media? Can I just throw phosban media in my hang on back fuge in the media bag that comes in the jar and be okay? I've got a hob fuge for pods - rock rubble and chaeto, but I probably have room in there for a media bag. Just wasn't sure if the media would affect my pods or if the reactor did anything else.

the reactor is a good place to get good contact with the media. you can just put a bag of it in a low flow location but it wont be as effective. you can control the flow so you dont "burn" up the phosban as well
