Sump for my nano cube

I'm new at saltwater tanks. I have a cad lights 18 gal cube aquarium. It has the back compartment for the power head and a sponge and the ceramic balls. I was thinking of taking that stuff out and getting a Koller craft Rapids pro wet/dry filter system. Does anyone know about these systems

I am not a fan of the wet dry systems... I think the method has kind of fallen out of "fashion" due to the problems these systems can cause... specifically all the biomedia eventually becomes a nitrate trap, much like canister filters do, especially in SW Reef applications.
