Hi all.

Quick question on sump algae. I have recently built my sump and once the nitrates build up I am going to add the algae.

What algae is the best to place in the sump that will reduce nitrates and phosphate ?

All macro algae will reduce nitrates and phosphates, some better then others. The main problem with some algae is it will go sexual and release stuff into the water if the conditions for the algae are not on spec. Most people put Chateomorphipus in their fuge

I would remove that sponge you have in the sump and put the chaeto in as soon as you have fish in the tank.
