Synodontis petricola

Just aquired 5 synodontis petricola catfish and they are only 1.5" long. Was wondering if you guys thought i should grow them out in a 10 gal before i put them in the main tank. Will the cichlids bother them?

Some are large. Biggest one is 8". I decided to put them in my fry grow out tank.
