Tank cycle for shrimp

I got the three gallon tank I am using for the shrimp and was wondering how long I should let the tank cycle before I added the shrimp. I don't want to go with my gut when its to early to add them.

Haven't really decided yet but leaning towards cherry reds. You?

I am thinking of getting Crystal Reds and Yellow Shrimp.
