30 G so far, a lot more to go

So here is the 30G so far. I have gotten rid of about 70 pond snails already -_-. Now I have some awesome MTS (thanks dk :D) and will be getting some assassins soon I hope. Now we just need more plants/decor and some fishies ! ! !
still pretty empty...

very nice! those are good looking fake plants, i love the shorter grass looking stuff. i can't wait to get some MTS from dk! :D

I like the way those shorter grass ones look but they are a PITA to keep in place. they are very lightweight and if they aren't filled right in the bottom they float up to the top IME . lol

They are so fake ;) I like them though. Once I get my T5's I will be replacing them with real plants... but that tank is far from done being decorated :D

Ahh, they look nice. I'm trying to decide if I want to stick with fake plants or buy real ones. If I get real ones I'd have to spend more money on a hood and light. And probably even more money replacing the plants every once in a while because I have gravel as the substrate, so they may not survive as well.

There are some plants like java fern that you can plant in gravel; you just tie them to a rock :) I am not too knowledgeable on plants yet but I do know that there are quite a few types like this. I think as long as you don't have root feeders that need to be deep in the sand bed you should be fine. But don't quote me on that as I am ont 100% sure :) You could also do low/medium light plants that don't require a lot of light. Here are a couple of links that might help you out : The Planted Tank - Articles, Forums, Pictures, Links and So You Want a Planted Aquarium

You can plant with almost any substrate, it's just a matter of supplementing the plant's nutrition. Gravel is fine, you can use Root Tabs.

My camera has been acting weird lately so these are kind of crappy pics of the 10 re-arranged (again lol)

And here is the 29 now. Not much changed, I will be getting this baby taken care of shortly. I had to put more plants in the 10 so there were more hiding places.

Lookin good. No clue on the oto. Btw did you notice that the dw in your 29g looks like a shoe? Lol At first I was like "is that a BGK??? oh it's just a shoe. Wait what's a shoe in there for?!? Oh it's dw." Haha. Looks good tho :D

Well I recorded some video of him eating brine shrimp but it was pretty crappy lol. I will try and get a vid of him eating a snail :) A pic would be difficult to get because it is like BAM over in a second.

Lmao AQ, I never thought of it that way. What is BGK? Black ghost knife? You are giving me ideas... *off to google*

But don't black ghost knifes need waaaay bigger tanks? :(
