How many tetras in a five gallon tank.

I had 8 in my 5g and they where fine

Could I add a female beta fish in with them.

Yup! I had a male in with mine and they got along good!
Just make sure to get 3 or more, they like schooling.

I think you need to be more specific in the type of tetra you are thinking of. They come in a wide range of sizes.

Neon tetras stay small and are nice coloured.

If you where going for that combo i wouldn't add anymore than that, gives them room to move around lol.

I had neon tetras in the tank, very beautiful and playful.
