These gourami are very different from each other. One person will have a super peaceful gourami that is always out and about. Another will have one that went on a murderous rampage and killed fish. Another will have one that is super shy and hides all the time.

Most of them will be fairly peaceful unless there are other gouramis around. But since each fish has its own personality, you will occasionally get a fish that can't really be kept with much else.

My personal experience with them is extremely positive. I would say go for it and keep an eye on him. If things go south I would suggest trying to trade him in with a different one.
