So I have 2 Green Spotted Puffers in a 55 gallon tank. Puffers get bored easily so it's important to provide a complex environment and I did that. Problem is, they like to hang out in the top 1 inch of water near the front of the tank because they know that's where the food gets dropped in.
Any advice to get them off the top so that they go lower down and actually explore the tank? I've tried to slip some snails in there without them noticing so that they'll start looking around for food on the bottom but they're pretty attentive.
It's a brackish tank (1.005 but soon to be 1.010) so live plants aren't really an option and most plastic plants don't reach the top of my tank. Even if they do, they swim in the front so it would look strange to have tall plants in the foreground.
