My neighbor gave my his unwanted 65 gal acrylic. I have only done new setups, and I have no idea how to restart a running aquarium. How do I clean it up to prevent his tank bringing disease into my house and other tanks. I am going to over filter with a marineland magnum 350. It has had a Cumberland slider and a bluegill sunfish living in it for about 3 years... I am wanting to get rid of them and turn it into a tropical tank. Please help

The tank drying out should dry up any bad infectious bacteria. Wipe it out with warm water, do not use dish soap! Do leak tests once home to make sure it didn't crack or anything on the way. And then find a home for the other fish, if possible you should do this before it is set back up because all of the cleaning and wiping and drying out is going to make the tank have to cycle again. Then you cycle your tank and you should be golden :)
