I've been looking at getting a water changer, and have a possibly dumb question about it.
How do you rinse the filter media and such with no buckets of old water?

I fill a five gallon bucket up with tank water with a separate short hose. I start the siphon on my own and have the water changer going at the same time. Doesn't take much at all.

And bam! There's you little bucket with just enough to rinse your sponges etc...

Also you can get the water flowing from the tank and remove the hose from the T sink adapter and run the tank water into a bucket when you are done just reatach the hose no worries it works fine
