I'd probably go with the Fluval Edge. I actually looked at one the other day, did a little research, and it seems like a soild little setup.
Has pretty good reviews, and th LED light with it would allow you to grow several different types of plants with ease. Also heavy planting would allow you to overstock to a certain extent. I'd probably toss 6-8 Neon Tetras, two otocinclus, and 4-6 shrimp.
I personally have the 12 Gallon Edge. It is by far the coolest looking tank that I have ever owned. Have had no problems with it either. I fact I just ordered another Fluval tank for my betta! Really excited!
I have an eclipse system 12 and love it! They're a little hard to find but the light tab got comes with definitely packs a punch. My plants all did phenomenally in it! I upgraded it to a 20g (guppies) but plan on making it a grow out tank for plants for my 20g and 55g tanks
That said- 20g long tanks are pretty awesome footprint wise too
