What is growing on my plant?????

Hi people, I'm in need of some help again!, I have had this growing for a while and haven't thought anything of it until I noticed it started to grown quite long. If anyone has had this problem before or knows anything about it please can you help me out?

I think that's how Java ferns generate new plantlet's. You can pick the roots off and the new baby plantlet's and plant them and see if they grow.

Yes that's how they germinate! I thought "what the heck?!" too when I saw those creepy veiny roots on my java fern, but then it sprouted a bright green baby leaf.
