What is the best skimmer for a decent price

I am looking on ebay for a used skimmer and there are tons of brands I have not heard of... so I am steering clear..

After much research on this I have concluded that a Octopus is the best?
Is there any other brands that would be ok? I really don't want to spend 300 bucks on a skimmer. I am not doing a reef tank so It's not really required per say?

I`m not telling you to go out and buy the most expensive but when it comes to skimmer you usually get what you pay for. If you go used look for a used octopus brand.
