what is this?

on fake wood decoration.. there is a white mossy... something...almost looks like cotton covering this one decoration only...

What I've been able to find indicates that it is a fungus, most likely due to overfeeding but can also occur on young driftwood. If it turns green/brown then most likely algae.

Take a look st that page, maybe that's what it is. Also read that fish like molly's will eat it and it naturally goes away. Hope that helps
