I have a very small tank...admittedly I am pushing the bioload of my 20 gallon by adding a third fish to my tank. I have a clown who has been happily swimming around for over 6 weeks, and a goby that lives in his LR cave 90% of the day. I am also confessing that I am disappointed in the goby's lack of sociability and should've read more about his behavior patterns before buying him/her. So really, I am deciding to add a 3rd fish in the hopes of providing a more lively, and active environment for my fish. I sometimes watch my clown and wonder if it is bored out of it's mind! LOL I suspect he/she is.
What makes a good 3rd complimentary (and tiny) fish to this little family? What do you guys think?

Your two fish aren't pushing your capacity by any means. Here are various fish to choose from that I just posted to another member with a 30g: If keeping shrimp are of no concern to you, how about a small hawkfish such as: Cirrhitichthys falco (Falco hawkfish) or Amblycirrhites bimacula (TwoSpot hawkfish)? Also take into consideration Sphaeramia nematoptera (Pajama cardinal), Gramma melacara (BlackCap basslet), Nemateleotris spp. (Red/Purple firefish), Serranus tortugarum (Chalk bass), Gobiodon spp. (Green, Yellow, Citrinus), Opistognathus spp. (jawfish), and the various Apogon spp. (cardinals)?

Whew, I thought I was going crazy, because your post is the same as one Kurt responded to, with the exception of, "Here are various fish to choose from that I just posted to another member with a 30g:", I missed that part when I initially read your post James....lol!
Those are some great choices.

Thanks for the advice guys. I want to invest in a fish that moves around the tank a bit more than the goby. I love my little watchman, but he is hides all day.
I am leaning toward the firefish...my LFS had a few last week and they are beautiful. They sold out right away though.
Is it best to get them in pairs? My LR is kinda skimpy with only one little cave left....do firefish need a cave? There is lots of room to hide behind stuff, but my clown has staked out the tiki hut and my goby OWNS the big LR cave :)
