White Fuzzy Things

OK - These things are ALL over my tank. I mean ALL over it. They started off on this ONE rock and now there are TONS of small ones attatched to the glass on the back of the tank and all over my powerhead..

Looks like Q-tip sponges, harmless but their excess may be in direct relation to your water quality. How do nitrates and phophates look?

I will have to test the water again but I have been doing 10% water changes about once every 2 -3 weeks. Nitrates are usually around 10ppm. Amonia normally 0 and nitrites usually 0. PH has been a solid 8.3 EVEN tho I do use a hood light..

I have 2 of them in my tank. But my tank has been struggling lately.

I agree they are Q tip sponges. You might want to cut back on the feedings in your tank. Also check the parameters of your PWC water and top off water.

Thanks guys. I feed my 1 fish every other day. Should I cut back more than that?

No I would not cut back anymore because of those. They do have a benefit as they are filter feeders.
