wierd moving tube

It kind of looks like it has a small ball inside of it it used to eat stuff. Extends out from the rock but doesn't leave it so far

Does it retract if you shine a light on it? Could be a peanut worm, though the color doesn't look quite right.
 
The second id a probe from a nass snail checking it out. It didn't seem to overly care about the light. moved down a little after I turned it off, but it's pretty bold for a new thing. Came right back out after a crab was done clinging to the rock ontop of it.
 
I had not considered that. I was under the impression this tube was coming from a rock. What makes you think abalone?
 
Ok... But an abalone is a snail and I don't see anything like that in the pic. OP, can you get any more pictures, maybe of different angles?
