Ok Bob here are the pics.
Try to get a head long look at the fish and see if the spots are in the fish or ON the fish. There is a parasite in Saltwater that looks like black ICK so when you look at the fish, the black spots are raised from the skin. Possibly? there is now a freshwater version of this parasite? If you can't really get a good look, net the fish and use a toothpick to see if you can gently rub a spot off. If you can, time to treat. If you can't, and you should be able to tell even before using the toothpick, then it's coloration and nothing to worry about.

Hope this helps (y)

I have a silver female with freckles like that. Try the toothpick thing, but my bet is on coloration...

So's mine but you need to be sure ( or as sure as possible. ;)) If it is the parasite, the tank and the fish will need to be treated or they will get out of control. Might as well be sure instead of guessing (y)

These tiny spots are a new twist for me. Back in the day when we would see Zebra Angels or any other spotted Angel, their spots were well defined so you would know they were coloring. Today's fish seem to have smaller spots so it's back to diagnosing before declaring. Such a pain! :D:lol: That's the fish biz for ya  (y)

Okay.... Finally I have a pic to show ya. :D
These are fry from the Gold Marble/ Marble portion of the trio. They hatched out on 10/24/13. There is only about 30 left from the spawn ( of about 300 eggs) but it's a start. It gives me some more practice time to reaquaint myself with the joys of fry raising
Can you guess what they were eating right before I took this pic?

And now I have swimmers in a bottle too :D Looks like the round robin now becomes the eggs into the house, the ones in the 2 1/2 get old enough to go outside into a 10 gal and the next oldest fry shift from a bottle into the 2 1/2. And the circle continues. ( Can't wait for winter to get here so the spawns can be hatched outside. :D )

See??? And a better pic of the baby a few of you wanted to see grow. Also, when do you guys consider them fish, and no longer fry??

K!!! Thats what i figured. These are from my second batch, and the first ive sold so they are about quarter size. I need critter food and fish food tho so i needed to sell. Im taking the lfs 15 today.

Well the spawning slate came out of the Marble Angel's fry bottle yesterday and I did a PWC on the parents' tank today and put it back in there today. (The tank was really dirty so I even took out about 4 gals of water into a bucket and took the fish out of the tank as well so I could really clean it before putting them back into the tank.) About 3 hours later, they laid some eggs on it. How's that for speed? lol So it's back in the house now in another bottle. Gotta love them determined fish :D

A few pics of some of my bigger babies. The 2 with bent fins will not be sold, and the bent pelvic fins are from trauma when they were tiny. They are from my first batch ever and are half dollar sized. Oh, and i pulled wigglers this morning, and they are now swimming!! Enjoy!

Pretty close!!! The one with the bottom fin partly missing is regrowing it due to a cray eating it while it was sleeping, which is why there are no more crays in there. I have 2 pinky nail sized angels from my next to last spawn, last had no survivors. The bad bs eggs are really impeding the survival of my fry. Commercial food suck. But i may have fixed the issue, if not ill just have to buy more of the good kind!! And decapsulate the eggs i have so they arent wasted.

Made a sponge filter!!! What do you guys think??
