Worried about peacock bass

Hey guys, need some advice, my partner has an 8' x 2' x 2.5' and he wants to keep peacock bass, normally I would be ok with this but they broke the last 8ft tank we had because they hit the brace which cracked the tank, im now scared to let him have them again and was looking for some advice? They're not aquarium fish. Seems you've already figured that out though
