Man that's a lovely tank, drives me mad no one stocks XL bogwood in Northern Ireland.

This is actually from a dead dogwood in my back yard lol l cut up the pieces l liked, boiled them for about 8 or 10 hrs, then let them soak til they sank. You can do that with most any hardwood you find. Its alot cheaper !!!!

Hi, TigerTerror,
I'm fairly new to fish tanks (aside from owning 55g for about 8 years, but it was more then 7 years ago), what is that tube sticking up in the middle? Looks like test tube/thermometer... :ermm:

I'd guess thermometer? I got one like that, but it's suctioned cup to the front glass.. :)

Sry the pic won't show on phone& LT is on the fritz..could you tell me what the setup looks like? & also I'm fairly new to this hobby as well..I've absorbed tons of knowledge since I became a member...AWESOME SITE!

Fishfool58, that's what it looks like to me too, I just have never seen one like that... LOL
TigerTerror, it's one of your pics (i assumed it is your tank). And right in the middle, closer to the front of the tank, there is a "pedestal" with a glass? tube sticking up, looking like a thermometer... It almost looks like the base of it (or where it sits) is attached to a under-gravel filter grating...

Yeah, like a piece to keep it from moving or spinning around.. I have 2 in my 75 Cichlid tank, One suctioned cup o front in front of filter & one down in the sand on the other side of tank.. & it likes to "spin" on me.. I have to constantly turn it so I can read it.. Lol

Oh.....yeah its a thermometrer...it has a base when pressed into the substrate it will not move...on the other hand I had one in with some Africans&they beat up on it constantly..

Interesting (y) Kinda kool looking like that  LOL
Will have to check my local stores and see if they have anything like that.
Thank you, guys :thanks:
