Looks like the color of snot during a cold :) lol...so maybe a lil green...

grrr i was hoping it was just me. LOL Thanks

I guess I won't be ordering my fish Wednesday. :-(

Anyone else out there that can be my eyes?

Seems yellow to me. Besides, you shouldn't consider the color after such a long time, it won't be accurate. Sometimes I don't wash the tubes right away when I test my FW tank, and the yellow turns kinda muddy after a while.
As for the trates, I don't know, hard to tell, but I think the color is more like five-ish, definitely more than 2.

Oh I forgot, the salifert is determined in low resolution by dividing the result color by 10. So 50 is 5, 100 is 10 etc...If you look at it straight down is when you use the numbers on the card and there is no pink at all when I look down.

yeah thats what i thought. Thanks wolf for the third opinion. Guess i still have some waiting to do. The question now is do I keep adding fish food? My hermits look hungry.

Hmm... In this case, 2.5 is about right.
But isn't it good if the trates are low? I thought there was another kind of bacteria in SW that converts nitrates to nitrogen gas that then leaves the system?

Yeah, i tested my 55g while I had the kit out and they are almost 2.5 in there too. LOL Yep, if nitrates get converted to nitrogen gases then you are golden. I prob will be starting a thread about low nitrates later, I'm baffled how they can be so low in the 55g.

And wolf, no chance. I would have to break down my entire 55g to get out a half inch fish. silly....LOL

in my 55G mine read 0 on my api test kit their bright yellow i dont expect then to read 0 forever though lol

Darn, all my hermits are hiding and the snails are ones that go under the sand. So no CUC pics. lol

As soon as the ammonias down for 3 straight days I think I'll place the order.

Good decision!
That Citron goby is an adorable little fatty! I was looking at him too, but I'm sold on sand sifters. I had a Red Sea Max 130 reef cube 4 years ago and had a sand sifter there, a blenny I think, and I loved her - the way she would spit sand at me! LOL:lol:

I'm staying away from sand sifters til my tank is more established, I'd hate for it to starve. I wish i could add another blenny into the 55g but I don't think you can have that many blennies. My sand is quite established in there now.

Tank is all loaded with lr and base rock. got cuc in there. Just waiting for ammonia to go down, it's like .25 and I have nitrates too. :)
