With the pair of GBR'S you could do cardinal tetras and jumbo neons. I have albino jumbo neons and my one ram chills with them lol but he chases the lamp eyes away

i'd prefer more diversity, but that is an idea. thanks

Do you guys think I could get a school of neon tetras as well? Also what about bottom dwellers? I was thinking maybe ottos or corys or bristle nose pleco... what do you think?

For schoolers, I would add any kind of non-aggressive tetra/rasbora under 1.5"
such as neons, green neons(more delicate), harlequin rasboras/rummynose tetras/etc.

I personally love the contrast between neons and GBRs as they both have a bit of blue and harlequin rasboras and GBRs as the red stands out against the blue;)

and for acclimation, etc. make sure u have a good source, they are known to stop eating after purchasing after a few weeks(happened to me 3X),

ACCLIMATION:)

drip is best
usually 1 drop per second works best OR SLOWER

For quarantine, i'd do at least a month, what size tank is ur QT?

and i'd wait at least a few weeks before starting to add any other fish

i'd keep doing 50% WCs, not 100%s.......bc then ur removing all the BB remaining

good luck:D

Does anyone have any inverts that they recommend?

amano shrimp are perfect;)

and for RCS, they should be fine AS LONG as you add them first OR get 10-15 of them to start off.............as only babies will get eaten, and GBRs can't eat that many daily

ghost shrimp would work too, as they are $0.13 each, not expensive to replace iether;)

amanos wouldn't breed as they need brackish to breed

i'd just get 6-12 amanos OR 10-15 RCS?

I already acclimated them. The QT is ten gallons. I do not want to quarantine them for a month because i'm too impatient. :) The tanks are already cycled... they were heavily stocked and have been converting 4 ppm of ammonia in less than 24 hours. So IMO I don't need to stock very slowly. I am only adding one school or species at a time, but I am still not waiting very long... I am going to do my regular weekly 50% WC. I dosed ammonia in the 20 g and tested twice a day. After two tests it was gone.

I was thinking that the GBRs would eat the shrimp after what other people said... I will have to experiment. I am getting a pair of GBRs this weekend, and might get some RCS as well.

So tomorrow I will get a pair of GBRs. I will put the glowlight tetras in my twenty long, because they can still quarantine in there. Then the GBRs will quarantine in the ten gallon.

They're cool but none of my LFSs don't have them. I can't find any around here.

i saw one today but he was to expensive i couldnt afford him i was fureous lol. got me some nice shrimp though not sure the shop knew what was up cus i got two different species 4 one one type and 1 of another i can tell cus one sits with its claws out filtering food out of the water and the others pick it up of the substrate and my filter side

I am getting my GBR pair later today. Do you think I could have another pair of dwarf cichlids in there also?
What other fish should I get? I need some bottom dwellers.

On my way to my LFSs. I am going to get plants, RCS, and GBRs. I will browse for other options for my tank. I have coolers ready for fish in bags! Lol

No more dwarf cichlids. GBR's can get pretty territorial when breeding, and can declare the entire tank their turf.

As far as bottom fish go, loaches and kuhlis are pretty cool critters. Your tank is about borderline for a pleco.

I don't want a pleco- I don't like how big they get. What kind of loaches?

Just leaving the LFS. No GBRs in stock... I got RCS and some plants

Oh no! In my 10G QT, 2 of my glow-light tetras were missing. I was worried. The last place I checked was in the filter-and sure enough, they were there. I got them out. One was OK, but the other looked dead or dying. It was stunned and couldn't swim, and was gasping for air. Poor fish. But it got a little better, and now can swim on its own, it's just a little weak sometimes. But because of this I moved the other 5 glow-lights to my 20L. So the one injured one is isolated and can't be picked on. I also turned the filter flow rate down. I was considering adding aquarium salt, but decided not to because I didn't want to take out all of the plants. If it is still sluggish and looks weak in the morning I will add salt.
