I have a YWG and pistol too. Did you put some shell fragments near the opening of the burrow? I put some there and pistol has used them all to shore up walls of the burrow. It's funny to watch him pull these frags that I thought would be too big for him into the burrow. And then he'll put small ones up on top of the bigger ones. He's quite the engineer!! Meanwhile, the YWG just tries not to get squished by the shell frags the pistol is dragging by him. Hilarious to watch!!

No problem!! I read it online to place shell frags outside the burrow, and I've had to replenish the pile twice now, and I put about 10 or so pieces each time!! He's used them all!! We had a bunch of shell pieces that we collected on the beach years ago, went through that and picked out bits of shell that had gotten broken and such. He made an overhang entry out of some. The angles not that great, but here's a pic:
