Greshakei or Mbenjii?

Hello again everyone.

I have a friend who -- according to the image he posted -- has what appears to be a Metriaclima Greshakei. However, I am also wondering if it might also be a Metriaclima Mbenjii.

What are the subtle differences between the two species?

Hello DizzCat. According to one person who wrote to me on another board, the pelvic fins on the Metriaclima Greshakei males are a lot longer than those that are found on the Metriaclima Mbenjii males.

Here are two pics from Cichlid-forum. To me, if these are the ones you are talking about, they look nothing like each other.

It looks like the MBenji has a lot of yellow and black in the face. Hope this helps?

and mbenji seems like a more narrow fish. the greshakei seems alot more bulky and the colors are different too
