What type of Snails

I am thinking of getting some snails for my 55g community planted tank,

What kind should I get and what kind should I avoid.

You could try getting assassin snails.

Nerite snails are great workers, love algae and won't touch your plants. I have some in both my planted tanks without any issues. They also can't breed in freshwater which is good i also keep mystery snails they don't touch the plants but can breed if you have more than one and get a boy and girl they also need fed. One snail i have is a cana he likes to munch on the odd plant so you want to avoid them, i just try to keep him well fed lol. Hope this helps.
