Salamander identification??

Today while looking for crayfish in a creek I found a salamander with lungs I tested the water from the creek to make sure everything was similar to my fish tank before I added it. I haven't had a chance to have a good look at it but I believe it is a neuse river mudpuppy because that is the river the creek connects to. I don't know much about these creatures and would like some personal advice on raising them. Thanks
