brown algae

ok so my tank was over run with the brown algae phase about two weeks after the cycle, is it burning when it starts to shrink up? i got home yesterday and to y surprise either my 3 turbo snails were very hungry or its burning up im not sure which has happened either way im happy to see it going away. also i have a large piece of holy rock from my freshwater that doesnt fit in my new fresh water tank can it be used as base rock and become live over time

It`s diatoms more than likely. They usually burn themselves out and disapear after awhile.

wonderful im so excited to see what my rock actually looks like agian. by the way you have been very helpful in the start up of my salt water tank, just wanted to say thanks for the input
