I am in the beginning stages of starting my new 75g freshwater Rainbow focused tank. This will be the largest tank I have ever owned, so I will end up having lots of questions.

Because I can't afford to buy an entire setup in one fell swoop I am going to be doing it piece meal over the next 3 months, and start setting it up around June.

I would love some input into what type of filter you more experienced hobbyist recommend. I am comfortable with an HOB or canister. I have zero ability to DIY, zero. So I need something fairly easy to setup and maintain.

Also, should I do an undergravel filter with Powerheads? And at what power?

The tank will house mainly Rainbowfish, with 1-2 schools of tetra or barbs and most likely a Pleco of some sort and my Oto cats. It will be planted. ( but I don't know what kind if plants yet)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Dont do the undergravel filter its basically useless. On my 75g I run two marineland emperor 400s and I love them I have no complaints about them.
