Bubble counter Water V.S. Mineral oil

What's the difference?
The instructions from Aquatec-of California said DO NOT use oil.
So I'm kind of weary to use it.

The water will eventually evaporate and it will need to be refilled. Not a big deal IMO.
Possible if the the check valve fails and oil gets into the regulator it could cause irreparable damage. Just a guess.

Water it is. Just googled it and saw too many problems with it.
