How long did it take to get it that large?
 
My blasto's growth was relatively slow compared to other LPS corals I have which started out as single-headed frags; it took a number of years to reach that size.

From my understanding b. wellsi has a much slower growth rate than b. merletti.

I have another blasto wellsi which I acquired as a small colony and because it was already a colony (instead of a single tiny head) it seemed to have a greater growth rate in terms of generating new polyps :

Just the fact that all I have is softys and I'm not sure if I Wana have a softy tank or mixed! Lol
 
A guy gave me this Monte and it was like the size of a nickel and white around the edges!! Now look!! 9 mo. Later!!

Yup! That's a BIG torch. I have 3 of them all with really long tentacles. I think the coral you're referring to is the pacillapora? I don't have any leathers except the yellow fiji.
