yea it's just the produce soooooo much waste and then they get 4 inches and then theyre VERY active plus the live longer in brackis water what about a guppy
remember betta is a must she already has it dont do guppies major problems as for any other fish as long as its not tetras i have had no problems i even have 2 rams 6 platy and a male betta in a tank they stay side by side with the rams

Unless I misunderstood, this is a second 10 gal tank, not the one that's housing Elvis the betta.

o ok my bad i read this and figured they were all going together
Will it work in a cycled ten gallon with a 10 gallon aqueon quiteflow filter? Will there be aggression? Etc.
6 neon tetra
3 ottos
2 platties (1 male, 1 female... Not trying to save the fry)
1 male betta (required... I already have him)
The tank has been established for three months, and currently stocks 3 black skirt tetras and mr. Betta. The tetras are soon to be upgraded to a new 29, and until that build is done, cycled, and stocked, the ten gallon will be a QT for the 29 gallon fish. After the 29 gallon tank is stocked, the 10 gallon will have been established for about a year, and I'll set up another 10 as a QT for the 29 and the old ten, which will hopefully hold the above stocking... That's the plan... If you understand it lol.

It is, but remember. It's just a QT/hospital tank, not another community, so I just need one fish.

Heck ya! He's already in one lol. (3 black skirt tetras at the moment... Not for long though.) I just need a QT and hospital tank for the sick and new fish, so that Elvis doesn't get sick.

my opinion is they do excellent my brother has his with corries glolights and platy and i have mine with rams platy and they both do excellent i think they get a bad rep

seriously when i was like 10 i had a 10 gallon with a male and female swordtail and a betta and it did perfectly fine (the petco guy suggested the swordtails)

Ok... To sort out the confusion here lol, let's make this simple... There are THREE DIFFERENT TANKS!!!
---------------------------------------------------------
Tank 1:
10 gallon tank
Stocking:

Elvis the male betta
6 neon tetras
3 ottos
2 ADF's
This tank will have a 30 gallon aquaclear filter, and WILL NOT be used as a QT or hospital tank.
---------------------------------------------------------
Tank 2:
10 gallon tank
Stocking:

Any sick, new, or injured fish
Possibly 1 female platy

This tank will also have a 30 gallon aquaclear filter, and sand as a substrate. This tank WILL be used as a QT and hospital tank.
---------------------------------------------------------
Tank 3:
29 gallon... My main tank
Stocking:

6 black skirt tetras
6 rummy nose tetras
6 orange laser cories
2 Bolivian rams (pair)
1 keyhole cichlid
1 starlight bristlenose pleco

This tank will have a 70 gallon aquaclear filter, with possibly tank 2's filter running for a lot of the time, and WILL NOT be used as a QT or hospital tank. This stocking is already nailed into the floor so to speak, so don't bug me about it! Rofl. (if you want to, check out my 29 gallon build/journal/journey thread.)
---------------------------------------------------------
Now. Y'all helped me stock tank 1, and are giving me advice on tank 2... Understand? Sorry if y'all weren't confused... But I was! :D

Will you have a place to put the Platy when the qt is being used? If there's a sick fish, then you don't want to expose the Platy to that.

That was where I was nervous. My plan was just to leave him in and let him get treated... But I'm thinking of just going with maybe some snails that wind up in the live plants. (they'll be QT'd in there too.) the meds will also keep the snail population down. I dunno yet. Still looking for ideas.

I've used mystery snails to keep a QT alive. They produce a lot of waste so it works. But I transfer them out when someone else is using the tank. And I go barebottom so no traces of meds could be left in tank that might harm inverts.

Well, what if I just let the snails breed like nuts, and feed them. Then I can knock down the population with medication while I have sick fish, and starvation when it gets too big.

mystery snails dont reproduce in the aquarium or that's what someone told me

That's false. They will, and lots of people have them do it.

They are male and female, and need one of each to breed.

I quess I could do one or two, then just stick a few in different tank whenever i'm treating... But I think I'll just run the tank 2 filter on tank 3 until I need it.

That'd be best. The filter thing. That's what I'd choose if I were you.

Well, Joyler already thinks I am.
