i just dont get why my tank is taking FOREVER to cycle!!! i got my 10 gallon tank in may and well i didnt know about cycling the tank when i first got my fishes.well i had 2 goldfishes in it til the last one died sometime in july and ( yes i didnt know neither that goldfishes were supposed to be in a larger tank when i bought them) and im sure that the fishes ended up dieing because of high ammonia.well i didnt buy any more til 2 weeks after that( i did pwc and i vacumed the gravel as well) and got the water tested at a petshop, the guysaid ammonia was almost gone but not fully and that just seemed like it was about to finish cycling.he said i was able to get just 2 fish to finish cycling my tank but a week later of having these 2 new fishes ( a guppy and a three lined cory) my tank hasnt finished cycling!!! went to a different shop to test the water and the results are ph-7.6, high range ph- 7.8, ammonia-.50, nitrite 0ppm, and nitrate 5.0....lady told me to not do any water changes til 3-5 days from now and then to come back and get it tested. sorry this is a long post but i just dont get WHYYY my tank is just not cycling and ammonia hasnt gone away!! any help on what to do would be greatly appreciated!
