More eggs!

Incredible. The few from last night are gone, but there are more!

Wow!

I think this happened because I was feeding extra frozen food because of the baby cory then I had to return the heater so the temp dropped. I am no expert!

We will see what happens…

Mary

I think you are right. After I found this first batch of baby pandas in my son's tank I went to the store I bought them from. The owner used to breed them and told me two things: the more there are, the more they breed and if you want to encourage breeding then when you do your water change lower the new water by a few degrees. Looks like they loved it!

That's great. I hope all these eggs everyones finding is a prelude to my pandas spawning!
Oh, got another pic to show too. I'm so caught up in my pandas rite now that I forgot to post pics of my 2 c. paleatus.

So if I do a WC with cool water it may make the Cory's breed?? Will they interbreed? Albino w/ Striped? Black w/ Sterbi ?

Sometimes stores don't take hybridized fish. But maybe I'm not sure. I don't know to much about Cories. I do have a nice school of Sterbais though

Thats crazy rivercats. I'd hate to have to try and catch anything in your 220 lol.

Bkiggy, I'm not sure if corys can hybridize or not but I'm pretty sure they wont unless prompted with hormones and such. I'm not positive on that though.

My albino bred with my emerald, but i suspect the albino is an albino emerald, they dont tell you what species albino it is at the store.

That's called you don't put anything in you might have to remove. Sometimes you can catch them at night with a flashlight but it just depends on the fish. When I had to remove some of the original rams I did it when I was pulling things out doing the re-scape. It's just something I try to avoid at all costs.

I just got my 55 gallon out of the attic about 6 months ago for my kids and set it all up. I have had this tank for at least 20 years and I consider myself somewhat knowledgable. I have only had a few fish die since set up, and have a tank with all live plants. I got a larger piece of drift wood and ever since I put it in about a month ago the water has become very cloudy. The Fish are fine but wife is complaining that the "new" tank is a eye sore being dirty looking. Testing the water with 6/1 strips everything is normal and doing weekly water changes. Cleaned filter again today but it doesn't help. Tried liquid water clearer also. How long will it take to clear up? I am getting pressure to put back in attic, but I am way too into it again at this point and really love it. Please Help!

You should start a new thread about this question but if the tank went cloudy after the DW was added then most likely that is your problem. Did you boil it first and scrub it down? Also test strips aren't very reliable, you really need to invest in a API Master test kit so you get accurate results.

Yes you should start a new thread but did you let it soak for at least a week to let all the tannins come out?

Out of 25 Corys I finally got a picture of 3 Julii's... they are always the cory's that are out and about...

Another Julii on the move... Aquarium Advice - Aquarium Forum Community - Rivercats's Album: 220g inhabitants - Picture.

Maybe one day I can get the other 23... lol.

Your planted aquarium is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

Not going to get rid of them. Just want babies

I talked to a friend today about this… push on my part to save the eggs and "have babies."

He kindly brought me back to earth by asking me what would I do with them. I can't possibly house them all, (10, 20, 50, 100?), for long, so now what? Sell them?

There is only one LFS that is willing to take DONATED fish, and Petsmart/Petco certainly will not.

Soooooo… I'm going to wait and see what happens, my tanks are close to maxed out anyway.

A reality check for me.

Craigslist and classifieds...local auction. See if you have any local clubs that have auctions great way to sell fish!

You also have to consider the reality of how many of the eggs will reach adulthood. I dont know your situation, or what kind of setup you have for the eggs, but i know when ny cories had eggs and i managed to get them to their own tank without being eaten, i only had six grow out big enough to move to my main tank, that was out of one clutch. They are still small and fragile, I hope they all make it, but who knows.

I don't have a setup for babies, so the parents, eggs, and baby are in my 36.
