View from my easy chair.
The chiller died about 9 years ago and I was too broke at the time to replace it, and this was before LEDs. It was a hot summer and even with air conditioning the MH lights pushed the tank up into the mid to high 80's. I watched as tons of coral died in front of me. It was a disaster, but I saved a bunch of it, finally got a new chiller and everything has been fine since then.
Previous to that I had two 55 gallon tanks in the 80's, one a reef and one fish only. Constantly had tangs with Ich. Killed too many fish before my mind got control of my ego.
Some rare shots of my engineer goby pair.
Really awesome fish! I lost my engineer goby. :/ do you think they do better in pairs?
After all this time, all I have to offer is the fact that not much of what gets posted hasn't happened to us all at one time or the other. Reefing seems to be about consistency and staying between the lines.
Not sure. I had trouble with young ones eating. They seem to get over that problem when they get big. I have to feed mine right in front of their dens as they rarely free swim.
