I am on my fourth or fifth kilo of safe.. Each does over 200,000 gallons..
I hear water changes are overrated !
You sound ready to join the million gallon club ..(y)

I laughed so hard at the amount of water... only because I’ve failed keeping them at least a half dozen times [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]?*♂️
I've been lucky so far.. stuck to the criteria laid out by some successful keepers/breeders.. bare bottom tank until they're 5+", daily 50% wcs but laying them 30° to flat is better, feed 5 times a day with varying quality foods, water temp 82-84. Keep tanks spotless with paper towels. It's a decent amount of work. I try to Manage the 20h qt in the morning before work, wc and feeding, and the 65 grow out gets half-hour of attention a night. I use eheim auto feeders for 3x a day sera pellet feedings and feed black worms in the morning because I can literally stick a freeze dried cube to the glass and they can hit it when they're ready. Frozen foods at night. Spirulina brine shrimp, pe- mysis, beef heart, occasional frozen krill. The krill and beefheart stink up the water bad so that needs to be fed an hour before wc and the following day needs a 90% wc.

Trip to discus guy was a bust... he didn't want the pleco I brought. He wanted the pleco I left at home... I got 3-1" blue cobalt or similar to what I have?? Mystery?? I put them with the pigeon blood. They came from the same water/tank.. I guess I just crapped on the qt process but they're all going in a b.b 40b this week anyways.

Love watching your fish grow up! Can't wait for baby pics.

So if you take the other Pleco back another time, then what can you get???
Well... this is a funny story really... it all started when I met him months back and we spoke about my l134 leopard frog pleco, it's old, breeding age.. They take awhile to reach maturity and it's a big thing i guess.. I sent him a pic of the butterfly and he thought it was a leopard frog and blah blah blah.. it was a big mis understanding.. he can't use my leopard frog for his 6 month old batch because will most likely due before his are ready to breed. 20171229_191217.jpg

Zebra plecos need to be 5+ years old to breed I was told by one of my customers who breeds them..He used my EBR to induce spawning with his plecs..
1 week after he got my rams they spawned on the outside of the plecos log and the next day the male plec had trapped his female !
Here are the pics he sent me !
Sorry they are just links...But it is easy to see he knew what he was doing....

Breeding the super special plecs takes more then skill....It takes time ! Or the possession of older plecs !

Nice score on new fish anyways... Getting fish from breeders as opposed to fish stores is usually much better money wise and quality...(y)

Bad links bandito.. welp.. I tore down my planted 40b.. Had to do it. It was a mess, mixed color substrate and all crypt! Clean start!! Froggy pleco is not happy..20180116_110909.jpg20180116_162346.jpg20180116_161911.jpg

Ha! Something must be in the water. I plan on breaking down my 20g Planted tank. Considering I only have three tanks, that’s a big deal. Going to take advantage of the DPG sale and possibly get a 29g (same footprint as the 20 long).

I just got tired of looking at it. The black sand phase is far gone for me... sand or glass. What are you thinking. Want 10 pounds of your red wendti back;)

Same here. Plus there was algae embedded deep in the seams.
Hmmm, I’m thinking about going plantless this time. Specifically, blackwater scape with spiderwood, Leaf litter, PFS. And actually buy some fish.

Ahh.. scraping the glass was nuts. Utility razor, hot hot water and 1 hour of my life!
I like the idea fresh.. I have a ton of left over product from my Blackwater setups. I'd be happy to send it your way. IAL, I have tetra Blackwater extract and humic acid if you're looking to get Friday night crazy.. I had an epiphany earlier when I was trying to net 20 cardinal tetras from the poo soup I had stirred up.. They look very cool in heavily stained water! That and some apisto and cory cats.?
