That was a slight exaggeration... it's only 1600 gal/month..
I've been lucky so far.. stuck to the criteria laid out by some successful keepers/breeders.. bare bottom tank until they're 5+", daily 50% wcs but laying them 30° to flat is better, feed 5 times a day with varying quality foods, water temp 82-84. Keep tanks spotless with paper towels. It's a decent amount of work. I try to Manage the 20h qt in the morning before work, wc and feeding, and the 65 grow out gets half-hour of attention a night. I use eheim auto feeders for 3x a day sera pellet feedings and feed black worms in the morning because I can literally stick a freeze dried cube to the glass and they can hit it when they're ready. Frozen foods at night. Spirulina brine shrimp, pe- mysis, beef heart, occasional frozen krill. The krill and beefheart stink up the water bad so that needs to be fed an hour before wc and the following day needs a 90% wc.I laughed so hard at the amount of water... only because I’ve failed keeping them at least a half dozen times [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]?*
Well... this is a funny story really... it all started when I met him months back and we spoke about my l134 leopard frog pleco, it's old, breeding age.. They take awhile to reach maturity and it's a big thing i guess.. I sent him a pic of the butterfly and he thought it was a leopard frog and blah blah blah.. it was a big mis understanding.. he can't use my leopard frog for his 6 month old batch because will most likely due before his are ready to breed.Love watching your fish grow up! Can't wait for baby pics.
So if you take the other Pleco back another time, then what can you get???
I just got tired of looking at it. The black sand phase is far gone for me... sand or glass. What are you thinking. Want 10 pounds of your red wendti backHa! Something must be in the water. I plan on breaking down my 20g Planted tank. Considering I only have three tanks, that’s a big deal. Going to take advantage of the DPG sale and possibly get a 29g (same footprint as the 20 long).
Ahh.. scraping the glass was nuts. Utility razor, hot hot water and 1 hour of my life!Same here. Plus there was algae embedded deep in the seams.
Hmmm, I’m thinking about going plantless this time. Specifically, blackwater scape with spiderwood, Leaf litter, PFS. And actually buy some fish.

I like the idea fresh.. I have a ton of left over product from my Blackwater setups. I'd be happy to send it your way. IAL, I have tetra Blackwater extract and humic acid if you're looking to get Friday night crazy.. I had an epiphany earlier when I was trying to net 20 cardinal tetras from the poo soup I had stirred up.. They look very cool in heavily stained water! That and some apisto and cory cats.?
