Seriously! Your tank is the so pretty! I think I would break into tears every morning when I woke up and saw that next to my bed. Can I buy some stock in your tank? ;)

You go out of town for a couple weeks, and things tend to get out of control!

I think today will be a serious maintainence day.

I recently went to Ohio to visit my parents an I took a trip down south to go hiking through Hocking Hills. I have a whole new appreciation for that trail now! So many cool mosses growing. lol.

I had to sample a couple an see how they do submerged. Anyone know what kinds of moss these are and if they can be acclimated to submerged form?

wow...your tank is even more gorgeous just letting it all grow. :)

those mosses are so cool. unfortunately I have no idea what they are...sorry. :-(

It's been awhile, so here it is...

I completely cleaned out the jungle. It was time for a rebuild and a cleaning. Both Moss walls are gone but will live forever in my videos. The baby tears started to takeover everything so I cut them waaaaaay back and it's like a whole new beginning. Unfortunately while cleaning I ruined my Xmas moss bush on the driftwood, but I still have the moss so I will be reattaching soon. Don't worry, it will all be a thriving jungle once again.

I'm currently running my DIY CO2 directly into the crypts to see what it does to the hair Algea, I'm just curious.

Oh and it is no longer bedside. I moved it out into the living room next to my 55 so I can enjoy it more.

I have a 30g in my room now, it's at the opposite end of the room as well, I still zone out on it all the time lol.

It has now been 2 months since I cleaned out the jungle and as you can see, it has slowly returned. The jungle Val plant is growing like crazy and i keep having to replant the new sprouts to my 55.

It's that time of year though when my Aponogeton crispus goes into hibernation. The growth rate and size drastically reduces when my apartment cools a little. No flowers..
The baby tears are spreading nicely as well! Im still diffusing the CO2 through the roots of the crypt. That's what those ghost looking figures are in the one photo. Im not sure if this actually works but all the plants are pearling so the co2 is getting around somehow.

I know it's really common. The other is a really fine moss attached to the driftwood.

I read this post in one sitting watched all the video's and I am amazed at the plant life in that small 10 gal tank. the amazing movement in the video's is so grand that I may even look into live plants.. I will be following your post in the future on this little tank..

Thank you so much! The 10 gallon is a nice way to start with hi lighting plants IMO. The lighting is simply 2 cfl bulbs, which are cheap. And you can begin to learn the ways of CO2 and ferts on a smaller inexpensive scale. With the DIY CO2 Im using 2 cups of sugar and a 1/4 teaspoon of yeast in a 2 liter bottle, add water, attach a hose and presto! My plants are pearling and growing like crazy.

Here's the moss I just put in, which is pearling nicely!

My only drag in this tank ATM is the hair or beard Algea I get. It's mostly on the Crypts. I use an old toothbrush and that pulls it right off, but I wish I could get the balance right to avoid its growth.

Few more shots for your enjoyment.

I'm starting to have an issue with some algae Im not familiar with. It grows in small clumps on the DW, on the glass and some plants.

Can anyone identify? Im going to do some spot treatment with excel and only run the lights for 5 hours a day and hopefully that helps.

Here's a photo. You can see the small clumps on the driftwood.

The 2nd new plant that you have is riccia if i am not mistaken. The 1st one looks like anacharis but i could always be wrong. Great job on this tank again. I have to redo my DIY CO2. Mine doesn't seem to work properly.
