How hot does the exterior of the heater get, and I assume it doesn't vent?
I don't think it would receive enough air flow being confined in a stand against the wall, I'd be a little nervous myself. What the heck do you need a heater for in Louisiana? Come up here to Chicago and I'll show you cold!
What is the stocking plan. I have a 65g South American tank.

I'd do buenos aires over the GDs, or two spot astyanax. Something a little more natural to the home range of most geos just my two cents.

I vote for Hyphessobrycon pulchripinnis, you have enough red in the tank with the geos. I think this would be a better contrast in a large school, plus can't beat the red eyes!
