20 gallon plus 10 gallon sump on second floor.

Would the second floor be able to safely hold a 20 gallon gallon with 10 gallon sump. I'm super paranoid so I figured I'd ask.

a 10 gallon sump isn't going to weigh all that much. Assuming you have 10 gallons of water in it, which you wouldn't in a sump, you're at 85 pounds of water.

If you want to make yourself feel more at ease, you can place the tank on top of a supporting beam.

Very accurate answer. If you know the pattern of your floor joists, run the tank perpendicular.
