You mean hitchhikers
, and they don't really have much of an effect. Really isn't a benefit or detriment for most hitchhikers, but some can be pretty bad. And I recommend adding ammonia to your tank to see if it is cycled, which I kind of doubt it is if you really have very little nitrate, since this should be in abundance if your cycle just finished.

They hijacked my aquarium. They had weapons of mass destruction. It failed. They are dead somewhere. Sorry guys.
