I love snails! They are the greatest for cleaning up. I use them in all my fry tanks.
You don't really need a heater in that small a tank. Just pick up a heat bulb from your LPS (in the reptile section) and put that in your lamp Keep the fishie nice and warm

Not if my home goes down to 9 Degrees Celsius. Will the lamp heat the tank up so much ? Then it has to be on 24 hrs. a day and may stress the fish. Keeping it partially on in that cold is not an option.

Here another issue with this tank. This planted tank has a lot of java moss below at the base. my Betta is pooping on this Java Moss more. Will this reduce the amount to nutrients available or affect my plants in any other way ? Thanks.
