Hi to all . I'm about to start a 55 gal. Reef tank on a 30 gal. Refue. I was wondering if I could add a 20 gal. Fish tank to the same refue . The sump is 12 gal. I'm going to run a mag 9.5 pump . Every thing is being set up to run a 150 gal. Tank. Hope to get a reply or some help on this mater

You certainly can, it just makes for a bit more convoluted setup. Just set them up to drain in sequence, the 55 draining into the 20 draining into the 30. That being said, it might be cheaper and easier to get another 55g and just run that as a refugium. Not to mention there would be less chance of something going wrong.

Thank for the info. I would like to run 2. 55 gal. But don't have the room for to 55 gal. I only have 80 " to work with. I was going to put the 20 gal. Over the top of the 30 gal. It will be tricky to stack the to tanks . The opening I've got to work with is 80" long 43" tall and 13" wide . Would like to here back from

Im was woundering what kind of paint to us in side of the tank & fuge.I want to paint the devider in the fuge?

I was wondering if you could lay a AquaMaxx fluidized GFO & carbon filter Media Reactor on it side. If it still would work fine

Here is some of photo's of my 55 gal tank & 29 gal fuge . What are Opinions of it so far . Hope to here from y'all

Need some help I can get this light real cheep it a Odessa light . What is Your opinion of the light. Is it to strong for a 55 gal reef tank Attachment 188371 I can get it for $100.00 it has 4 T5 blue

No, you would need a two BULB fixture that is 48 inches across. The t'5's dont really count as that is a metal halide light fixture. The big bulb in the middle is the metal halide

How many watts is the halide bulb?
250 watt halide with 4 t5 actinics should be plenty
I run a 250 14k phoenix with 4- 420 geismann t5's on my
92 semi circle with no problems

Also you need to find out how old the bulbs are
If old you should replace them

No don't know how old he upgrade his tank that's why I can Get at a good price . He sold the tank today

Ok I'm back. About to set up the tank this weekend if every thing goes good. I have a Question . When I start up the tank with 60 lb of LR & 50 lb DR & 80 lb of Fiji pink sand should I keep both of my reactor empty until it Cycles. Or run it for a few months be for I put every thing in the reactor ?
