So four days later I have little sprouts in my tank on a couple of the bulbs :)

Also I have a bacteria bloom... soooo looks like cycle might be close to being done!

Got my Java Moss in today! Giving a moss wall a shot and covered my fake piece of driftwood with it... pics on sunday...

If tests look good Ima prolly be getting some fish tomorrow... that is if the weather is good. lol

I cant tell by the picture you posted but make sure there is nothing that looks like this http://lh5.ggpht.com/_ECm-8VLXdBI/RX...I/PICT5286.JPG if you do see those they are "bladder snail" eggs.Bladder snail is a nick name given to them due to the the bladder shaped dots on there shell there also known as hitch hiker snails pest snails and they come from plants fish or anything else that has been in another tank.If that snail looks like this Bladder snail eggs image by Blue_076 on Photobucket http://www.weichtiere.at/images/weic...n/p_acuta1.jpg its a bladder snail. If it looks like that find them and kill them fast the best way i found that kills them fast are yo yo loaches. The snails will destroy you'r plants and reproduce in filters too they clogged mine up 1 yo-yo loach is fine for a 55 gallon tank.If there is only one thought i would just catch it and kill it and not buy a yo yo. Here is a few pics of the yo yo's.http://www.thinkfish.co.uk/fishimage...tani_loach.jpg

Moved part of a plant into the 55gal, setup the co2, and did lil water change to clean up some dirt on driftwood and rocks. I dosed with ammonia again since its not quite done with cycle. Heres some pics. Oh yeah... co2 started coming out in like 5min... guess my mix was good lol. Java moss wall... and on a fake driftwood deal that had fake plants on it.. i mashed it around on them to hold the moss...working well so far. Whatca think?

nice....do you have a co2 tank or one of those yeast bottle co2 tanks

If that's the moss I sent you, it's just a ramshorn snail. They're harmless and they don't take over the tank like pond snails do.

Good to hear! I have seen about 4 of the lil guys... the biggest being about 1/4 big - in that pic. Others are really small.

I am running DIY CO2 with two 2 liter bottles going into a jose curevo bottle as a balance ballast.

my mix = 1 cup sugar in each 2 liter, 2 tablespoons of yeast in a 2 cup measuring cup that was filled with warm/hot water... you can't have it too hot or too cold or it wont start up the yeast. Then i sprinkled a little sugar in that measuring cup and stirred i all up. It'll look cloudy and hold that form. Meanwhile with HOT water filled to the top of the label on the 2 liter... pretty much 3/4 way up... then shook the heck outta it and dissolved all the sugar. Once all dissolved I poured in with the measuring cup, 1 cup of the yeast mix which now should smell like fresh bread. Cap it on the system and mine started a good stream of bubbles in like 5min.

Oh yeah.. thanks to ziggy for that mix recipe :)

Nice i myself was thinking of doing a DIY co2 tank but i ended up buy a 20lb co2 tank and a 5lb co2 tank for $100

Soooo out yesterday for date day with my lil lady and we went to petsmart after and i picked up some more plants :) Cycle still has nitrites so waiting on that :( Think Im going to make a mini co2 generator for my 5 gal that and a lil plant it in as well now that I think of it... Sorry im a picture whore... enjoy :)
