A new fish I saw....

The longest I've had 1 live is just over 1 year. Maybe 1 year and 2 months or so. I have not been able to get them to live longer, other than raising them from eggs. Then they last longer. When you get them from the lfs, they are usually at least 1 yr already, sometimes a little less, sometimes longer. My baby survivors may last a couple years, as I raised them from eggs.

They said they are a ram that's been crossed with bolivians, as well as been genetically altered to get the larger fins like an angelfish

That does sound like the elusive long finned GBR I've discussed (sans the Bolivian cross). I have searched all over and cannot find a single photo of it.

If anyone comes across a pic, please share.

i dont think anyone could confuse a butterflyfish with a ram

I didn't say butterfly fish I said cichlid. And to me the look very similar to a Blue ram.
