Adding charcoal

How do I add charcoal to take away the discoloration from the drift wood?? It is not bad but I just got loose charcoal and don't know where to put it. Thanks for any help

Put it in a filter media bag and put it in the filter if you can. If not put it in the tank somewhere that gets plenty of water movement. The loose charcoal i buy comes with a media bag included, otherwise they are fairly cheap to buy.

Thanks. Read a little about it too and somehow ordered the right stuff. Zeolite and a good activated carbon. Need the bags as I have 2 tanks but will take care of that soon. Thanks for the advice
