am I a paranoid Hypochondriac? OR does my angelfish have gill flukes or swimbladder?

I have a 40 gallon tank
1 adult angelfish (female) - her mating pair died
10 white clouds
4 corydoras

Tank has been running for 6months
0 ammonia
0 nitrite
20 nitrate

my angelfish is eating :) and swimming happily :)

BUT BUT BUT sometimes (once a day), I see her hang at the surface.
She is NOT gasping for air.
She just swims with her head/mouth pointed up/looking up - Just like she is looking for food, anticipating and sensing food.

She does it for a few minutes. But then goes exploring the tank.
Oxygen is not a problem. I have 4 aquaclear mini HOB filters and an airstone.

Is this normal?
Maybe i'm just being paranoid.

The other fish are perfectly happy. The corydoras are playing in the bubbles and schooling together. And the white clouds are breeding!

Depending on how much surface agitation you have, she may just be staring at her reflection. Angelfish (like most cichlids) are on an entirely different "awareness level" than many other fish. They can recognize people and things, and especially their reflections as potential competition.

As long as she eats, breathes, and swims fairly normally - the rest is just her contemplating the overthrow of huma... ponies. She's thinking about ponies.

:whistle::whistle:

thanks for the reassurance :)

my other theory is that she is lonely and bored.
Last christmas, her husband (mating pair) died :(
So now she is alone in the tank.

I've been trying to find her another angelfish for a companion and to interact with.
But its really difficult finding adult 4-inch angelfish.
