Anacharis plant has white stuff on leaves

My anacharis plant has white stuff on the leaves similar to a white dust. What can this be?

Could be debris settling on the leaves caused by not enough flow from the filter, but I've never heard of any white algae.. Only thing white I can think of is mold but that wouldn't make sense.
Does it brush off?

Sorry, just learning how to use this website. I took a pic of it and the white stuff comes off like a fine sand. Let me know what you think it could be!
