Coldwater fish, no stomach, produces lots of poop and ammonia, grows quite large, needs a bigger tank (ask jlk for that info) than you would think, and also is very fat.

Fancy goldfish. Needs cooler temps than tropicals and should be kept with them in the same tank. The can grow quite large (up to a foot) and require large tanks. One fancy goldfish requires 20g all to itself. Each one after that need 10g. So for 2 you need 30g, for 3 you need 40g and so on. Very high waste producer so needs high filtration of 10x the aquariums volume. Eg: 20g tank needs filter for 200gallons per hour, 30g needs 300g/h and so on. Needs to be fed a high quality sinking pellet and fresh green vege. Floating foods like floating pellets and flakes can cause swim bladder issues. High nitrates can effect the eyes causing cloudiness.

Its not bloated- they are bred to look like this! As adults, they will grow to be the size & roundness of a large baseball. They are delicate creatures & are very prone to swimbladder issues due to their unusual shape & breeding. Make sure there are no sharp objects in his tank, that his tank is atleast 20gallons (with no other fish), & that you keep his water perfect. Make sure you are feeding a quality sinking goldfish food & lots of daily veggies. Hope this helps!
