best canister filter?

best canister filter? my dad wants to get one for his 50g long. any suggestions? he's got 2 aquaclears on it now a 70 & a 50

Either a 405 or a rena xp3. The xp3 has noticeably more flow than the 405, but it is just a touch louder IME... usually about the same price

I am partial to the RenaXP's. I am running 9 of them now and really like them. Very easy to service.

I don't have any personal experience with them, but in another post a member brought up Aquatop. From the research I could do, they seem to be decent units. Inexpensive and include a UV light. I'll try one if I ever need to replace my Fluval, or need to set up another large tank. In the meantime, check them out. If he decides to go that route, definitely post back. I would love to hear some personal testimony.
