hey guys long time no see.

I want to get a betta again and was wondering what was okay to keep it in? I don't have a lot of money so..

People have told me that bettas need at least 2.5 gallons a fish.. so if I got something around there would it be okay?

I personally would only use 5 gallon as smallest.

I have heard the same and own a 2.5g it looks tiny compared the Betta.

Personally I don't use tanks smaller than 10g in my house.

I would agree with the above comment though I really wouldn't go lower than 5.

Petco is doing the dollar per gallon sale right now I believe.

I have a betta in a 2.5. You'd be okay, but you wouldn't be able to have anything else in there. I wouldn't go smaller than that, though.

A 2.5g is fine for a single betta, even a betta/nerite or betta/shrimp combo.

I personally wouldn't do anything smaller. In The 101 Best Freshwater Nano Species 1g is suggested as minimum tank size. An article in the most recent issue of Amazonas goes even lower down to half a gallon. It's also stated though that more frequent water changes are necessary in smaller containers.

The $1/gallon sales are great if you have the space for a 10g. You also have to factor in cost of a heater, filter, and light.
